Problem Note 49994: The error "No terminal connected to the SAS® session" occurs when you open a DBMS table from SAS® Enterprise Guide®
When you define a database library in SAS® Management Console, you choose one of three possible values for the Authentication Type field for the database server connection for that library. The three choices for the Authentication Type field are as follows:
- (none) specifies that credentials are not used to connect to the server.
- User/Password specifies that credentials are retrieved from metadata corresponding to the selected authentication domain.
- Prompt specifies that the user is prompted for credentials when connecting to the server.
If you set the Authentication Type to Prompt to create a database server for the database library in SAS Management Console, you might not be able to open a table from SAS Enterprise Guide from this library. The following error might occur:
If you want SAS Enterprise Guide to prompt you for a database user ID and password, follow the steps in SAS Note 46674: "How to have SAS® Enterprise Guide® prompt you for a database user ID and password."
